In addition to the legal and residency requirements for running for election as a member of the school board, it would be desirable that members of the Board of Education have genuine interest in and devotion to public education, a willingness to give time and effort to the work, a capacity for understanding people, and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
Any vacancy on the board resulting from any cause other than the expiration of a term shall be temporarily filled by appointment by the remaining members of the board of a legally qualified person. The remainder of the un-expired term shall be filled by a person nominated at the next general election.
